Hello!
One of the nodes has issues with the RAID. We are proceeding with the data recovery and will probably move the VMs too.
More details to follow as we have them.
UPDATE 2:58 AM Friday, August 8
Data recovery successful. We are now restoring the VMs on another node. It will take some time, people who opened a ticket will get a reply there when their VM has been restored. We will make another update when restoration is complete for everyone.
UPDATE 4:41 Saturday, August 9
At least half of the VMs have been recovered. The process continues, but we are encountering some issues.
One is that we recovered the disk images, but the original hardware is gone, the VMs are restored on another node with a different configuration. As such, if you hardcoded some features or you had an ISO mounted in fstab, for example (yes, I just encountered one case) the VM might fail to start all services. I am watching the boot processes trying to solve what I can, but we are not allowed to check the actual data without express consent from the customer, so some VMs might remain broken until you login at the integrated VNC console (or use your own client). The swap partitions might also need adjusting, the recovered volumes are not always matching the original sizes and the swap partition could have fallen victim to the speed we try to solve these issues. Extra disk space has been allocated where needed. In spite of that, we have no reason to believe there was any kind of data loss on the original disk images (data, not swap partitions).
Those problems, while annoying, are not the norm, most VMs are standard and running without issues, that is just a heads up, if you see your VM online but inaccessible, then you will need to login at the console and make the necessary adjustments. If that fails, please open a ticket.
Update 10:10 Sunday, August 10
We went through all the VMs. There were some issues we discovered, if your VM is not online, please open or reply to your previous ticket.
We can consider this incident closed. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
